Veru’s Art Crush: Janice E. McMillen
During my last visit and exhibit in Philadelphia, I got to meet many wonderful artists, but there was one particular artist that got my attention.
Meet Janice E. Mc Millen.
Janice is a handmade stone jewelry designer in the whole sense of the word.
Hers, is the kind of statement jewelry that must be seen in person (it’s so beautiful). The pictures I share with you today were taken (by me) during the evening hours of the day –not a good time to take pictures!
Janice’s necklace compositions are not only beautifully elegant in the generic sense. There is an interestingness and uniqueness in each peace that keeps your eyes on them. Most times, the “queen” stone (main stone) of a piece has an unlikely – and exotic – story of its own. Sourced from legendary regions of the past, like Morocco and other ancient part of the world, they are absolutely their own statement pieces, which makes me wonder how is Janice able to find just “the right” complementary stones and details to create such strikingly beautiful and one-of-a-kind pieces?
I hope you enjoy her works, and if you’d be interested in inquiring more details about her work, or maybe even purchase any of her creations, feel free to reach out to Janice directly at:
Stay well, stay happy and stay healthy. I’ll be in touch soon!

Lovely. I really like the piece with the golden piece in the middle. Stunning.
The necklaces look truly unique and special. I love the timeless elegance they convey. Would you know if she shows her pieces somewhere in New York City?
