Celebrating: Karen Walker and Logan Ledford

Happy Tuesday Beautiful!!

With a never-ending stream of sad and scary news, both nationally and internationally, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for opening these twice-a-month newsletters. They are not only meant to distract us briefly from all of that (and whatever challenges or worries might be keeping you at night), but they are primarily a way to remind you through these handmade jewelry creations that beauty and kindness, and love and creativity are also alive and well in this world. Through you, through me, and through the thousands of people who choose to create beauty rather than horror, compassion rather than judgement, togetherness rather than division.

So, thank you for reading us today. Thank you for supporting the arts. Thank you for believing in better days, thank you for believing in the importance of beauty, authenticity and support.

Thank you for being part of our small creative world. <3

Today I’m very excited to reveal our 2 brand-new sets of necklaces and matching earrings inspired by two amazing artists.

I’m also thrilled to announce a new partnership with an exclusive boutique in center city, Philadelphia called COSHARE, located on 1505 Walnut Street.

The two sets you are about to see, as well as several other one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces will be available for purchase at COSHARE between now and January 15th 2016.

Starting tomorrow, we are temporarily closing our online-shop until mid-January. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me!) I’m flying home for the holidays soon and won’t be back until January. But for those of you in the Philadelphia area, VeruDesigns can still be a lovely holiday gift thanks to Coshare, with the added fun and bonus of being able to see the pieces in person, try them on, and shop many other beautiful accessories and clothes by other incredible designers!

I’ll be sharing much more about our partnership with Coshare on our next blog post/newsletter two weeks from now.

And now, let me introduce you to our two latest sets:

Celebrating: Karen Walker – Fall 2013

If you follow VeruDesigns, you know that I LOVE New Zealand-based designer Karen Walker. Even though I’ve created other smaller pieces inspired by her works, today’s first set is a true celebreation of one of my favorite fall collections that she created in the last few years.

Her 2013 Fall Ready-To-Wear Collection called “NEW ROSE”, is filled with a mixture of high-tech fabrics, wooly knitwear, and the presence of powerful red, oranges, lime-green, olive-green, black and white. Make sure to see the full collection here.

Today’s set was inspired very specifically by these 6 looks of the collection:

This set comes with complementary matching earrings as well! Despite of the size of the beads, this is a surprisingly light-necklace. If you are in the Philadelphia area, you can now have a look in person at 1505 Walnut Street in center city Philadelphia!

Celebrating: Logan Ledford

I’ve been following Logan’s work for over a year now. You can see all her works here. There is something about the simplicity of her art that draws me. But it’s not just the simplicity, but the keen perfection of the color combinations she is able to come up with. Just BEAUTIFUL.  You’d think it’s easy to come up with something like that. It’s not. She has an amazing way of reading color in a beautiful and harmonious way.

This set is inspired specifically by a small piece of hers with 4 color-combinations which you can see below:

The necklace itself (and its complementary matching earrings) are a true delight.

What do you think? Do you have a favorite? I’d love to read your comments below 🙂

Stay well, stay happy, stay healthy, stay as the lovable, kind, positive and one-of-a-kind person that you are.

I’ll be in touch in 2 weeks!
