NY Fashion Week! Our Super Tiny Version of our top 4 Runway Looks
if you love beautiful fashion, art, and the deliciousness of anything super tiny, cute and small, this post will bring a smile to your face. I promise! 🙂
This week we’re skipping jewelry (sort of, but not completely) to share with you 4 Art Pieces instead. Each art piece is displayed in a gorgeous glass and brass display box that you’ll see further below.
What is this about? Each Art piece is a tiny handmade polymer clay replica of a NY Fashion Week Runway outfit that was revealed to the world just two weeks ago during Fashion Week in NYC.
I started by choosing 4 of my favorite runway looks from 4 different designers that were part of their Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear Collections. I tried to cover designers that I’ve been a fan of for a while. I’ll share with you briefly some of the reasons I enjoy them so much, further below.
Everything you’ll see below (besides the tiny outfits, shoes and accessories) were also handmade by me (such as the tiny hangers, hooks, shoe display stand, necklace display chest, earrings/cuffs display stands, etc). Only the gorgeous glass & brass display boxes and the small acrylic stands are not made in-house, but are important final touches that make each art piece truly beautiful to look at.
Let’s get started!
Chosen Outfit #1: By Carolina HerreraÂ
Elegance is a whole combination of things. Not only what you’re wearing but how you behave. It’s attitude, it’s movement. It doesn’t have anything to do with beauty or wealth.
– Carolina
What is not to love about this outfit?! had actually a very hard time picking just one of the entire collection. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend you google it online. It’s spectacular!
Chosen Outfit #2: By Clover Canyon
Shapes convey the modern ease. Clover Canyon invites women to join them on a journey of the imagination: Where do you want to go?
-Clover Canyon
This Los Angeles-based design house has been releasing some incredible collections over the last few years. I don’t always resonate with the designs themselves, but I always ADORE the colors, patterns and textures that have become such a strong feature of their brand. This outfit is no exception of course.
Chosen Outfit #3: Victoria BeckhamÂ
I love fashion and that is how I express myself.
-Victoria Beckham
You know, when Mrs. Beckham came on the scene as a designer, I was honestly predisposed to assume that she was just playing the unfair advantage she had as a wealthy celebrity. But she has proven me wrong. Every single season. And she’s only getting better too.
Chosen Outfit #4:Â J. CrewÂ
A colorful outfit makes a grey day beautiful. –Â Jenna Lyons
J.Crew is the one brand of this group that I can claim to know first hand very well. They’re approachable in terms of pricing (especially when you compare them with any of the bigger brands!), and I just looove their look, the colors, the mismatch, the textures and patterns that have created a very distinguishable style. This particular look is just lovely. Happy bold spring colors. Fun and flirty blouse. A skirt with movement and the most gorgeous heels ever.
That’s it!
As you can imagine once I had all the tiny little accessories ready, I couldn’t help myself but spend a few hours playing like a little girl. Just for the fun of it we created a “tiny accessories show room and table” and had a whole photo-shoot around it. Isn’t it cute?! (I did the same thing with the whole outfits put together in a real-life tiny boutique display setup, but if I share those photos too, this blog post will never end).
If you’re a fashion designer, writer, editor or someone who simply loooves fashion, then these Art Pieces are (I think!) the perfect accent piece for your desk or home. I hope they will not only bring a smile to their future owners and beautify their places, but will also inspire their creative energy every time they look at them. All 4 art display boxes will be in our online boutique very soon!
Without a question, this project has been the MOST fun creatively speaking that I’ve had in my entire experience as an Artist with VeruDesigns. No question.
It’s so interesting how the inspiration came to me. As a little girl I used to save-up all my money to buy fancy papers, glues, ribbons and fabrics to create miniature replicas of my dream homes for my dolls. Eventually I began creating perfect replicas of boutiques, doctors offices, travel agencies, with all the furniture, decor and accessories made by hand. You would think that because I was a kid (8 to 12 years old) these tiny replicas were clearly childish looking. They were not.
I don’t remember having that much fun again until these last two weeks. And believe me, I LOVE making my normal size jewelry! But this is even more special for me.
I hope it resonates with you, or that at the very least you got to enjoy the this post for one reason or another.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite? I’d love to read your comments below 🙂
Stay well, stay happy, stay healthy, stay as the lovable, kind, positive and one-of-a-kind person that you are.
I’ll be in touch in 2 weeks!

Dear Eva – I’m relieved and so happy that you enjoyed today’s post! You’re right, this is very different from anything we’ve done here at VeruDesigns. I don’t know if making these lovely miniature fashion pieces makes much sense, but it was so much fun that I think this is just the beginning of something new. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely message. Much love!
Can I just say that you completely delivered on your promise!! This made me smile so much.
I woke up with some many worries about today and then this beauty came in my inbox. I always liked your art, but this takes it to an even higher level. I LOVE IT! ALL OF IT!!
I love in particular Carolina Herrera and Jcrew (the shoes!).
This is spectacular if I say so. It’s so clear that you had so much fun working on this. These might be the most adorable art pieces I’ve ever seen. Just fantastic. Love the accessories. Incredible!

Veeeeeeee!!!!!!
You are the best artist ever!! That feeling of letting the little girl inside you, use your hands to keep playing!!!!!!???? Is there a better feeling of being you? Of being your little Veru again??? I can clearly imagine the smile in your face! And the joy of such experience!! Suddenly, I want some shoes for my barbies! My little ceci and I enjoyed your pieces!!! Me favorite one…. The # 4!! TQM
Ceci!!!! If there ANYONE who could “get it”, it’s you! You’re the only childhood friend that knew me around the exact time I used to do these miniature replicas. Remember the fun we had with our Barbie’s runway at your house? I thought of you quite a bit during this project. Brought back so many sweet memories. Thank you!! You’re too kind. But thank you very much 🙂
Veru, I Love the come above..because it seems like she really knows what she is talking about! Me.?? I wasn’t as excited when first saw blog but once I looked deeper..I was so impressed!! They definitely bring out the child in you and I can see how it will do the same for those artists/designers, who love to create..just like you!
I can also see lots of small fashionistas wanting their parents to buy these for them…right now!! -)
ps Love the background details of case displays..the quarters add such a unique touch. And I must add the shoes my favorite mini items!
Much love to you and as always..,admiring your talent!
Thank you so much Guisela! I also love the mini shoes the BEST! They’re soo cute in person. I’m not sure if the small sizes show themselves accurately in the pictures. But they are truly lovely. Thank you. Your support always fills me with appreciation 🙂
I cannot pick a favorite because they are all EXTRAORDINARY!!!!!! You have far exceeded any boundaries of your materials and imagination. I applaud your creativity, your talent and your commitment to beauty.
Dearest Nancy – I think I was a bit over-excited last night while finishing this post. You have no idea how relieved I am that you, an incredible artist like you, enjoyed it. Thank you so much for such kind words!
