Color Crop Circles – Necklace
It’s SO good to be back!!!
Today marks our very first blog post of the year after an amazing 3-week hiatus in Bolivia (and Colombia!), where I’ve been spending lots of quality time with my family and friends. I hope you also had some time to decompress and disconnect from work and some of your more pressing responsibilities, even if it was just for a few days. There is no better medicine for the body, Soul and mind than a bit of time off and giving yourself permission to take care of yourself.
Also….let me just say how happy I am to see so many new beautiful subscribers!!!
Welcome to our beautiful VeruDesigns circle of friends!
Alright. About today’s jewelry reveal:
Today (and over the next few weeks) I’ll be unveiling 3 new necklaces that are part of our “Bolivian Goddess Collection“.
If you’re new to our Jewelry, these are beautiful necklaces that are inspired by Bolivian textiles from the Andes, known as “aguayos”.
What makes today’s reveal all the more special is that the necklace is modeled by a beautiful young bolivian woman as well, who happens to be my gorgeous sister Vanessa (talk about mixing work with pleasure!!).
The “Color Crop Circles” Necklace was inspired by the lovely symmetry of unexplainable crop circles found in several former Incas sites, both in Peru and Bolivia, whose origins continue to defy archeologist and scientist alike.
There are many interpretations of the possible uses that these crop circles may’ve had for the Incas. Some of them speak of the these crop circles being used by the Inca to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops. Others suggest that these were holy sites of prayer and human sacrifices.
There is however a third interpretation that resonates the most with me, and was the main reason I felt inspired to create today’s necklace. Several archeologists suggest that the symmetry of circles is a symbolic representation for the infinite energetic power that a small sector of the Incas Nobility believed existed in every particle of existence. They believed that true power came from their God “The Sun“, and that this infinite power was attainable for those humans who understood and lived by the concept of the “one-ness in the Universe”.
This concept spoke of the inter-connection between everything and everyone. Every being on this planet is a small circle that is part of a bigger circle: In other words, all humans, animals and plants were seen as “circles” that were part of a larger circle “earth”. And the earth, moon and Sun are also circles that were part of an even larger organization, called the cosmos.
This inter-connection, meant that what happened to one circle affected all other circles directly or indirectly, and therefore the wellbeing of one “circle” had positive effects in the wellbeing of everyone; and viceversa.
The spiritual side of me resonates very strongly with this concept, and as I began designing and creating this necklace I couldn’t help but try to incorporate this symbolic “power” that I know lies within us all as children of this gigantic energy “circle” called the Universe, God, Love.
As most VeruDesigns necklaces, this is also a statement piece, but one that will make you stand out for all the right reasons. This is a very unique design that somehow manages to keep a lovely balance of colors that bring color to the elegance of a black or neutral-colored outfit on any occasion.
What do you think? I’d love to read your comments below 🙂
A heartfelt thank you and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Vanessa, my BEAUTIFUL MODEL in today’s photo-spread. As is the case with most of my models, she is not only a beautiful woman, but a beautiful human being who makes our “circles” better just because she is part of them.
Have a lovely rest of the week everyone and see you in two weeks!!
