Transforming Couture Fashion Into A Stunning Necklace
Before we all get too immersed into the holiday season, I thought I’d share with you this beautiful holiday inspired necklace that I’ve been working on just for the pleasure of it. Today’s post will stay fun, beautiful and short. I’ll let these images do all the talking 😉
Let me present to you the MINJU KIM Necklace.
The design idea is meant to capture the playfulness of Christmas tree’s ornaments. I wanted to translate the beauty of ornaments on a tree, but in a whole different context: A woman, a neck and the perfect necklace.
This is what came to mind:
The actual inspiration however came from a very different source.
If you’ve been following VeruDesigns for a while, you know that I have an ENORMOUS love and appreciation for couture craft fashion and style. And as I found myself browsing the fall/winter collections of some of my favorite designers, I came across this beautiful image of MINJU KIM’S 2013 collection.
I absolutely love the bold contrast of the strong yellow, soft pinks, black and white, as well as the gorgeous texture and patterns of the fabrics that make these dresses a complete statement in themselves.
You may not have the dresses themselves, but this necklace commands the same kind of beautiful attention by making a splash, no matter what you wear.
I took these pictures before I finished cleaning the lovely gold metal that surrounds our “ornaments”. Unfortunately, I don’t think the texture and contrast of colors is nearly as beautiful in these pictures as they are in real life.
